Yangtze River and Floods this Summer
This summer many places in China suffered a lot from flooding. And it seems to be continued into August. I know many foreigners are worry about the flood and the Yangtze River tour.
From 28th July to 3rd August, I had an oportunity to whitness the Yangtze River and the Three Gorges by taking a cruiser. It is the "Three Kingdoms", a four-star with strong Chinese features not only in its shape but also its exteror decoration. I must say there is nothing changed except the water rising. You can not feel the terrible flood while the great Dam blocking the river. However, sometimes the Shiplock had to be closed so that passengers on the crusier need to be transferred from a port named Maoping, where is 60 km from Yichang city downtown. Here I present some pictures along the voyage, maybe you can lay down your heart and continue your yangtze river tour plan.
